The Alaska pollock fishery continues to thrive in Russia

As of March 5, the pollock catch in the Far East Fishery Basin has increased by 12% compared to last year, reaching 665 thousand tons. The herring fishery also showed good results with 115.5 thousand tons caught (+53%). The cod catch in the Far East since the beginning of the year has reached almost 30 thousand tons, in line with the 2023 level.



Over 100 fishing vessels are rumored currently on expedition, with the icebreaker "Suvorovets" providing safety. As of March 5, the overall loading of fish refrigerators in Russian Far East has decreased compared to the previous week, standing at 38%. There are currently 43.7 thousand tons of fresh-frozen fish products stored in the terminals.
